BA Insight is a company that has developed a tool to enhance the search experience, the tool is called "Longitude Search for Microsoft SharePoint Search". Improvements include: better grapgical search refiners e.g. date pickers. Document previews with hit highlighting, generated previews that have greater detail and render quicker (in theory)
